It’s England in the early 1900s, and very pentacle of human innovation and the dawning of a new technological revolution, but with it, came something else.

High Rise Empty
PostSubject: High Rise    High Rise EmptyThu Oct 22, 2015 12:15 am

High up in the of the tallest buildings of the city, Alyster stands with his hands cuffed behind his back and staring out the window, out across the city, his city.

"I knew it would be a matter of time before the Watchers sent one of their own."

"Can you blame them? You tore at the veil.." says another man sitting in a chair behind him, idly watching him.

Alyster laughs, "No, it wasn't me who tampered with the veil, if it was you'd know," He says glancing back at the man, "Because I wouldn't just tear it, I would rip the whole thing down, and force them to see that the horrors they all thought were imagined were real..." Turning his attention back to the window he takes a breath, "I would bring back the dark days, the good days, letting the demons, the unnatural and the super, I would bring them all back and watch humanity suffer and dwindle as they try to survive."

Now it's the man's turn to laugh, "Aren't you one of those humans?"

Alyster shakes his head, "No....I've lost my humanity a very long time ago, and to be honest, I don't believe I ever had it in the first place."

The man in the chair rises and when he does, Allyster stealthily slips a pistol from the harness to his breast and holds down to his side.

Seeing the action the man chuckles, "Do you believe that weapon would do anything to me." He says stepping beside Allyster at the large window.

"No...But when I come for you, you'd know, because I'll be killing you with my bare-hands." Although it was true, for a moment he did consider what would happen if he shot his guest through the head. It was more of a reflex and a twisted sense of curiosity than anything.

"I like you pestilence," the man says after a beat, "The first human who ever who ever joined out little ranks and to ever hold a title such as your own. I was impressed how easily you killed the former Pestilence."

"He was weak," Allyster snaps, glancing sidelong at his guest, "I Abhor this form of yours, I would prefer you true form over this ridiculous human facade, and your title is equally so."

The man smiles at this, "Is it because you wish to be Death? For it is a title I earned and tread carefully m'boy, when compared to me you're but an infant, I'm nearly as old as this planet, born among the primordial ooze in the darkness, I'm as old as time. I like you, because you move slowly, and you calculate, you appreciate the long game. Such as I, if were to wage my war now, the Watchers would call upon their champions, who would also call for the aid of the guardians, who would most likely bring the other would be heroes, along with the hunters, then I would be but a footnote in history. But our end goals are different," says Death.

"I'm well aware of our different plans for this world and I take it you still intend on bringing eternal darkness upon the world if you win our little game?" Allyster asks, turning to size up the man referring to himself as Death.

The man ponders the question for several beats before answering, "Maybe not complete darkness...I've grown rather fond of the moon and it's phases." He answers, "My kind will learn to appreciate it as much as I do now, however I would have to do something about the sun."

Turning to the man with the title of death. "You're assuming you'll win this game of ours, which I can assure you, you'll fail. But I see no reason why your kind couldn't adapt as you have and be a part of the my new world, besides, You'll certainly live longer." He says, turning away from man. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have an Inn to acquire and a Atlantian to interrogate." He says walking out of the room, as the man who's not a man watching Allyister leave through the door and grins.
