It’s England in the early 1900s, and very pentacle of human innovation and the dawning of a new technological revolution, but with it, came something else.

Born in Russia in the 1850s/60s to a family with a meager income, she always had the desire to move up in the world. Charlotte was skilled enough to be selected for training with the Bolshoi Ballet when she was 6. It was a rigorous and cut-throat environment, fostering a need to keep others at arms-length and to care about one’s self exclusively. At the age of 12 she was deemed unsuitable for further ballet instruction and sent home with nothing to show for her 6 years of training other than wounded pride and resentment towards the government.

Restless with being stuck in a small village in the middle of nowhere, she ran away at the first opportunity, stealing a ride in the back of a cart bound to market in St. Petersburg. For the next few years she worked hand to mouth, traveling across Europe, dancing and singing on street corners for change. As she grew old enough to attract the attention of (reputable) men, she would date for her dinner and tokens of affection which she would promptly pawn off for money.

During one of her dinner dates to a rather plush lounge, she was drunk-dared to sneak onto their stage and preform. She of course did her song and dance and was rewarded with applause, money, and a proposition from one Mr. Bernardo Guisseppe to work for a local theater production. He promptly took her career under his wing which earned them both a rather nice pile of money. Charlotte spent her days in the theater, using men for money and gifts, and being tutored in linguistics, art, philosophy, and economics.

Charlotte moved to New York as soon as she could afford the ship fare and notes of introduction for employment once she made it across the ocean. Over the years she has made a very nice name for herself, traveling the world and enjoying what it has to offer.
