Outside the Forge

Leading Cole outside he smirks at Cole's comment.
"You calling me small Mr. Ambrose," turning to address Cole. "Shall we spar then?" He asks, gently setting the box of silver he had pilfered from Anna's bar. And begins removing his coat, folding it neatly on the ground beside the box.

stepping outside he eyes Jason, "I to wish to see what you can do outside your armor Jay-son." He says, looking around the small yard. "I'm ready."

Jason nods, and begins systematically removing the gauntlets from his arms, along with the utility belt which he sets down over his discarded coat. then glancing sidelong at Cole, he weighs a decision, and sighing, he decides it may be better to spar bare-chested since he would prefer keeping the body forming smart suit of his as clean as possible, so he pulls it off, folding it neatly by the rest of gear before turning to face Cole and takes a casual kick boxing stance.

"Let's see what you got."

Cole smiles, "Are you sure you can fight without your armor Jay-son?" He asks, flexing his fist as they become engulfed in flames and launches himself through the air and slams his knee into Jason's face and quickly twists his body around in the air, performing a mid-air roundhouse kick aimed at the side of Jason's head.

His eyes widen at the site Cole's fist igniting in flames, he opens his mouth to says something when Cole's knee to his face causes him to see stars and snapping his neck back, barely giving him the time to register the second blow which rocks him, sending him to his to his knees, but not one to waste a moment, he immediately launches into a counter attack with a uppercut up into Cole's chin.

The blow doesn't surprise Cole as much as the power behind it, knocking him on his back, still, he smiles at the taste of copper upon his tongue and flips back to his feet.

His fist burn brighter and hotter as he clocks Jason with a hard right cross and immediately spins on his heels doing a reverse roundhouse punch with his right fist aimed at Jason's temple.

Jason spots the hook too late to dodge he instead goes with it, minimizing the blow as much as possible which still hurt more than he cared to admit. But spotting the reverse round house punch, he catches' Cole's arm, and steps back into Cole, using Cole's own momentum to flip him over his back, and be careful to avoid the flames of his hand, plants a foot into Cole's shoulder blade as he hyper extends the arm putting Cole into an effective arm bar.

Grunting and realizing there was no easy way for him to break Jason's hold without dislocating his shoulder, or rising a broken arm. But aware that Jason seems to be intentionally trying to stay away from his flames, he wraps his arm around his stomach, blindly aiming a hand at Jason's body, and and shoots a small fireball from his hand at Jason's torso.

With the fireball hitting him in the chest, Jason leaps back cursing, "Jesus" and quickly beats his chest with his hands where the fireball struck. Then looking up at Cole,

"What are you?" He asks, doing a spinning roundhouse kick to Cole's head, "A Meltra?" He asks swinging his left leg around in a reverse spin kick followed by his own momentum, and also poised to Cole's head, "A power?"

The first kick catches Cole off balance and he mentally kicks himself for trying immediately stand up, right in the path of Jason's kick. the second, he spots barely in time to block, and this time borrowing a bit from Jason's own counter, Cole grabs Jason's legs, and whips him around and through the air by his own momentum, throwing Jason across the yard.

"I....don't know what any of those words mean. What is a mel tra? and you mean to call me powerful?"

As Anna approaches the inn near the old stable her ears pick up the faint sounds of talking from the other side of the wall surrounding the grounds. Curious, the innkeeper unlatches the gate and peers into the back yard in time to see Cole throw Jason.

Holding back from making a snarky comment revolving around the chosen method of proving which male has bigger balls she instead makes her way to the kitchen's side door, shaking her head... though it would be rather entertaining listening from a cracked window on the 2nd floor while Jason tries to explain the metaphor to Cole.

Pausing before entering the inn she holds up one of the bags. "If either of you gentlemen have any interest in local attire, I've done a bit of shopping. I'll leave the bag in the kitchen. Heaven forbid you destroy the items before they've even been worn." She raises an eyebrow at Cole's fire engulfed fists.

Hitting the ground hard enough to knock the wind out of him, Jason goes into a roll, before hopping back on his feet.

He first looks to Cole, "The whole flaming fist thing you do," he says, before quickly amending his comment, "That you're doing now. And hitting me with a fire ball. You have to be a power, a mage, or something if you're not a Meltra." He says turning to greet Anna. "Yes, thank you, I could use some new clothes."

Looking down at his hands as he extinguishes the flames, he glances up at Jason. "I was a student of the School of the mortal flame. It was there I learned to channel my chi into fire, and learned to harness my chi into the fireballs. You seemed well trained, you should have similar techniques do you not?"

Nodding she does as she promised and leaves one of the bags on the kitchen counter before heading upstairs.

Taking the bag he holds it open approving of Anna's taste, he considers changing into them now, but reconsiders as he glances back at the forge.
"Better take it with me, so I can not look like a hobo after I finish my work he says." Glancing over at Cole, "You mind helping me heat up the forge and explaining more about how you use your chi to create flames?"

Following Jason towards the forge.
"It's not too difficult to do, but may be difficult to explain. In my world there are many schools of discipline for one to learn."

"Try me," Says Jason, as he picks up his gear and the box of silver, before heading over to the forge.

It takes him a moment to pry open the door to the underused forge and when he does he turns to glancing back at Cole as he holds the door open for him.

"Where I come from, we use chi as well. But nothing even close to what you're able to do. I know how to meditate and use my bodies chi to help me heal, to rest and help me hit greater force. But that's it. I have heard stories though of a few monks who can use their chi to levitate a foot or two off the ground, or make themselves more resistant to injury. But I have never seen a human weld their chi as you do."

Cole smiles at the mention of of only a few of those from Jason's world can use their chi to levitate briefly. He stops to consider what Jason's response would be if he were to see himself fly. He nods and follows Jason into the old forge.

"Chi control is as much about visualizing as it is focusing and willing into existence."

Jason glances up at Cole, giving him a small nod, "Can you teach others and can you perform other elemental feats? Such as making you fist covered in sharp jagged ice, or manipulate the elements around you?" He asks, as he begins stoking the fire of the forge.

Cole's smile fades as he mauls over Jason's words.
"I...I'm not sure....though I'm sure it'll be possible, chi is a universal force that makes up all things...I haven't heard or seen much of other elements, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone could manipulate the chi around them to control other such elements."

Jason Humphs, and begins going to work at preparing the forge. "interesting, but you don't seem as well traveled as I had imagined a man of your stature and abilities to be." He says, glancing up at Cole, before adding, "And would you be a dear and help me get the fire ready, I need to heat the furnace to 1500 degrees Celsius if you think you can manage." He asks with a hint of a challenge in his tone.

"I have traveled yes, but not far." He says, glancing at the furnace before igniting his left hand in flames and aiming it at the furnace, willing the flames to shoot from his hands with a steady and intense flames.

"And I'm a fighter, not a deer..."

Thrown off by Cole's literal translation of his comment, he blinks and shakes head head.
"It's a saying." He says checking the fires. and begins melting down silver Anna had given him."
