Outside the Inn.

Bodies litter the street, some dead, very many injured, Creature Omega, let's out a terrifying roar, before grabbing a nearby car and hurdling it towards the Inn.

Spotting the fast moving flying car sailing through the air towards the Inn, Shard draws an arrow, and brings up his bow as fast as one may raise an arm to shield themselves from harm, and releases the arrow, which explodes on contact with the car, blowing the car from it's original trajectory and sending it crashing harmlessly to the street instead against the side of the Inn.

Shard then lifts h is eyes to see the monstrous behemoth attacking the Village.

"Oh shite, that's not good." He mutters, drawing another explosive arrow from his quiver and firing it from his bow at what he can only perceives to be the monster's head.

Stepping out off the inn just as the vehicle and Shard's exploding arrow impact. Throwing up her own bubble of protection, Hetty takes in the scene before her.

Guessing the new creature will not enjoy being at the receiving end of the next arrow, she creates an illusion, multiplying the number of "Shards" to three, going for quality and not quantity. The shadows will mimic his movements and sporadically change their position in relation to him in hopes of confuse the new monstrosity.

"Is it just me or do these things keep getting bigger? And uglier."

Omega Lifting its massive arm to absorb the impact of the arrow, which explodes against it, tearing a large gash in it's arm, Omega, opens it's massive maw and lets out a deafening roar, before jabbing it's hands into the road, ripping a large piece of granite and throwing it at one of the three Shards, and charges the second.

"Bigger, uglier, and teethier" Shard agrees, diving and rolling out of the way from the chunk of road being tossed a him, realizing painfully, that he rolled right into Omega's path, getting first body slammed before Omega tramples over him. Saved only by Hetty's Barrier, which allows him to escape with several new bruises and scrapes, but thankfully, no torn flesh or broken bones.

Rolling away to safety, he yells, "Babe, you may want to cast one of those spells on yourself!" Not liking how close it and her now were.

pulling up his bow, grinning at it's durability, he draws a poisonous arrow and lets it fly at the creature, firing a second and a third in quick succession at Omega, hoping to keep its attention on him, rather than noticing her, also not wanting to risk an explosive arrow with Omega now being so close to both Hetty and the Inn.

"That's the downfall to the bubble and why you're not in one. Very sturdy, not meant for moving. I have something else in the works but it's not going to be of any help tonight."

The magic she needs for that particular experiment is exponentially more. It would be a good time to test out that mirror but with Mr. Cain now residing in the inn she doesn't think drawing attention to the fact that she is a potential carrier of that item would be wise.

"Don't worry about me." Hetty concentrates on her decoy 'Shards', adding her own phantom arrows into the mix to further distract big ugly.

Feeling the bed shake beneath her, Anna groans and pulls the sheets over her head falling quickly back to sleep. The explosions moments later drag her reluctantly from her rest. Muttering under her breath, the woman drags her tired body from bed.

Pulling a rich blue satin robe from a chair in the corner, she pulls it on and ties the sash about her waist as she crosses the room to one of the windows facing the front on the inn and takes in the view of the newest thing bent on causing destruction to her home. “Bloody hell another one?”

Passing from her bedroom to the sitting room Anna drags the desk chair to one of the windows with a slightly better vantage point, settling it so the high back is closer to the window. Taking the flask tucked in a desk drawer she unscrews the cap and takes a swig, the bite of the whiskey inside chasing away the last of the cobwebs from sleep for the moment.

She pulls a rifle from its spot beside the bookcase and straddles the chair, using the back as additional support for aiming. Flicking the latches on the window, she slides the glass (which is spelled against breaking among other things) up, locking it into place.

Bringing up the rifle, she takes her time aiming, figuring there’s no sense in rushing and forfeiting her advantage against the omega creature. She surveys the monster, glad she’s not in biting range after taking in all of the teeth, and trying to spot a weak area to aim for. Seeing the barrage of arrows, Anna releases her breath and fires with a loud crack, aiming for the creatures unprotected stomach.

Omega raises an arm to block the onslaught of arrows,and charges at Shard once more with its toothy maw opening up as it runs into the barrage of arrows and into Shard, and taking a bullet to it's mouth (Or where a chest would be) But ignores it for the time being as it slams Shard its fangs into Shard, before it slashes open Shard's chest, before turning to see Anna. With a roar it begins tramples over Sharbegins clawing at the side of the Inn, trying to find purchase in the walls, but seemingly failing.

Adjacent rooftop The man, but not a man, watches the scene unfold, ticking its tongue at the sight of the woman with the rifle, remembering that damn woman and her thunder bringers. It curves its lips over its teeth, but continues to watch for the time being. Planning.

from up high, he spots the Omega, and quickly brings his hands together, dive bombing the Omega Creature as his fists ignite in blue flames, and shoots his palms outwards throwing the fireball down at the top of the creature in hopes of blasting it away from the Inn.

Seeing that the arrows seemed to be nothing more than an annoyance Hetty waves her illusions out of existence not wanting to waste energy on something useless in this case. It seems Anna Maria's weaponry is more useful against this one.

Instead she has a web of protection bind itself to Shard's chest. While it won't heal anything, it can at least keep him together and prevent too much blood loss until he's able to concentrate on healing rather than fighting.

Cole pushing the omega creature away from the inn is a welcome sight. As he distracts the threat she begins to concentrate on a more powerful spell of her own which will hopefully disable the monster.

Feeling the breath being knocked out of him from Omega slamming him against the wall of the building, he barely has time to brace himself for Omega's slashing open his chest, unable to prevent himself from being trampled again, with his eyes widening at the coming fireball, he rolls out of the way and into a crouch, bringing a hand to his chest, to see the wounds were were being magically held closed.

Glancing up to Hetty, he gives her a small nod of thanks, before whirling around on the beast again, this time deciding to try an armor piercing arrow, which he fires at the back leg of Omega.

Omega The Fireball slams into Omega, pushing it away from the Inn and causing it thrash wildly at the burns, and grabs a nearby newspaper stand which it rips up from the ground and tosses up like a missile at Cole before falling to one leg as Shard's arrow bites deep into its flesh. It turns Frenzied at him then cupping it's massive hands together which it begins to bring down on the crouched Shard.

Anna sits patiently, waiting for an opening to present itself while the others attempt their various attacks. The last thing anyone wants is some friendly fire.

She develops a new appreciation for fireballs. They seem to have been most effective with the creatures bent on invading the inn. The exploding arrows aren't too bad either.

As the creature's hands raise to pummel Shard, she fires a second round at the back of the thing's head. Rather than waste time seeing if it hits she instead focuses on rummaging her desk drawer for additional ammunition. Anna's movements are calm and efficient as she reloading the rifle before returning her attention to aiming.

Cole sees the newspaper stand flying towards up, and briefly considers dodging, but remembering whatever goes up, always eventually, usually falls back down and not wanting to risk anyone getting hit by the projectile he simply raises his arm in front of his face and allows the stand to crash into him, it hurts throws him off balances as parts to the stand break apart, peppering his flesh with shrapnel, he continues his dive, using the now broken stand a a shield, which he uses to crash into the back of the creature, before soaring back into the air, to hover near Anna's window with both his fists ablaze, and bleeding from various cuts and gashes in his flesh from taking the blunt of the newstand.

"Hmph. Defensible enough spot, We're need more of your....guns..." He says in an aside, preparing another fireball," lots more..."

"I think you are effective enough with the balls of fire." She comments dryly.

"However, when we are not being harried by unnatural creatures, I will be happy to teach you if it's something you wish to learn." Personally, she prefers the silence of her knives, but as Anna has no interest in leaving her room at this moment in time, the long-range accuracy of a bullet is the better go-to.

Omega
The bullet staggers Omega, cracking it's skull and drawing blood, while causing its fist to smash harmlessly down on the pavement beside Shard, then Shard. opening it wide maw it roars, in defiance and rage, searching the buildings for whatever had hurt it. Spotting Anna and Cole, Omega roars, stomping over to a nearby parked car and heaving it up over his head, before tossing towards Anna's window.

"No thanks," Cole returns, "eyeing the weapon, "the weapon seems far to defalcate, I would surely break it." His attention however is quickly diverted by the car flying towards him and Anna, which he dives towards to intercept, slamming his fist into the top of the car, sending it flying back to Omega, and with it, he he fires a a second fireball after the car, setting it aflame.

hovering still several feet above Omega frowning. "Remind me to apologize to the owner," He says to Anna, now knowing better to look away from the monster.

Hetty alters her plan and throws a net of power she had intended to drape over the monster behind the car propelling in Omega's direction.

She pulls her hand in a grabbing motion, the net following her movement, and accelerating the car's speed. As it draws near, she twists the net to wrap around the creature after the flaming car meets its destination.

In theory, it's fibers of energy should be strong enough to contain Omega in it's grasp long enough for them to destroy it.

The flaming car smashes into Omega with incredible force, throwing it to the pavement before the car explodes on top of it.

Bleeding and on fire, with its flesh slogging off, Omega slowly rises back to its feet, roaring in both rage and agony, turning to the closest, warmest body to it, spotting Shard, it begins rapidly clawing across the pavement towards him.

Cursing at the sight of the burning car, flying too close to comfort him, and begins attempting to roll out of the way when the car slams into Omega, with the explosion blows him through the air, causing him to hit the ground hard, and rolling until he stops just several feet away from Hetty, with his clothes smoldering.

"I.....fucking.....hate this monster...." Shard Groans, then hearing the big ugly still coming after him, he sits up painfully, pretty sure he has at least a crack ribbed or two, he forms an ethereal bow, being as he lost his original bow in the explosion, and he pulls the remaining explosive arrows from his quiver and fires them all into the top mouth/chest region of the monster, causing its top half to explode in a cloud of red mist, before finally falling back, and staring up at Hetty again.

"If it still alive...don't let it eat me....If you want the green arrows are my acidic arrows.I'm....just gonna lay here and try not to hurt every where....or catch on fire."

Wincing, Hetty expands her bubble to include Shard in its safety. “Sorry… I didn’t mean for you to get caught in that.”

Not wanting to take any chances with the mess of a creature remaining, she motions for the net to surround what’s left of it like a cocoon. Though she can’t create fire, Hetty can make the magical threads heat up enough to incinerate what’s left to ash. As she works her magic, sweat beads on her brow from the effort.

As the magical threads heat up and begin to burn the remains of Omega, which slowly melts in a pile of hot ash. Defeated.

Adjacent Rooftop The man, but not a man, watches with rage and fury, but remembers the faces of those involved, considering their reactions. Sacrificing Omega had been a learning experience, it had taught it the behavior and these heroes would respond. It would have to create more of itself, it considers using all of its children in one calculated and sustained assault on the Inn. Then it turns its head seeing the presence of magical wards along with something else, something darker and not so innocent festering within the Inn's defenses, invisible to the naked human eye.

Lowering himself back to the ground beside Hetty and Shard. "Friend Shard, are you okay?" Watching the Omega creature burn away under Hetty's power. "You're chi must be incredibly powerful, I was unaware of this technique," He says motioning towards her net burning the Omega creature. "You must show me how to spread out my Chi in such a manor, it is most impressive."

Hetty slumps down to the ground herself, somewhere between giddy that what she did actually worked and exhausted having spent nearly all of her energy on heating the net. Satisfied that nothing but ash remains of Omega, she lets her spells other than the one protecting Shard's chest wound dissipate.

"I was unaware of that particular technique myself. Self preservation is the best inspiration for creative problem solving."

She ponders for a moment if what she did is something Cole would be capable of reproducing. Having very little to no understanding of Chi (though it is concept that she knows of- but knowing of and understanding are two very different things), she's not sure how successfully he would be able to duplicate it.

"If I can I would be happy to. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try."

"Overly effective," Shard corrects, glancing up from the ground at Cole, "Listen it's not that I don't appreciate your help, I do, but would you mind terribly to not shoot, or throw fireballs so close to me during the next big bad we fight...And with this being the White Wolf Inn and all, I'm sure that time will come frequently and often." Groaning he leans his head back against the nice soft pavement. "I think I know why the others refused coming back."
